Under the Hood

How Sweetopia Lab Actually Works

Sweetopia Lab runs its color mixing on a fruit-to-hue mapping system. Each of the 10 fruits in the catalog — apple, orange, banana, strawberry, lemon, kiwi, pineapple, grape, watermelon, and cherry — contributes a distinct base hue derived from its real-world pigmentation. When you add multiple fruits to the laboratory workspace, the algorithm blends those hues using a weighted additive model, producing a single resulting color in real time as each fruit enters the mix.

The result is not a static color swatch. Sweetopia Lab projects the blend into a full professional palette, deriving complementary, analogous, and triadic colors from the primary mix. Each palette export is formatted for direct use in design workflows. Recipes — named combinations of fruits you've saved — let you return to a specific blend without reconstructing it from scratch, and the tag system means your recipe library stays searchable as it grows.

The Stats screen tracks your weekly session frequency in a horizontal bar chart and logs which fruits appear most in your experiments, giving you a data-driven view of your own color preferences over time. The Learn module layers color theory content — hue relationships, contrast ratios, warm and cool palettes — over the fruit metaphor, with quiz checkpoints to reinforce each concept before you move forward.

What You Get

Six Capabilities in One Lab

Real-Time Color Blending

Drop any combination of the 10 catalogued fruits into the laboratory and watch the resulting color update instantly. No manual hex entry — the hue emerges directly from the fruit mix, making color exploration intuitive and immediate.

Named Recipes with Tags

Save any experiment as a recipe with a custom name and a set of tags you define. The recipe library is searchable, so as your collection grows beyond a handful of combinations, retrieving a specific blend takes seconds rather than reconstruction from memory.

Professional Palette Generation

Sweetopia Lab generates a full harmonious palette from each fruit selection — not just the primary blend color, but the complementary and analogous variants that make the palette usable in real design projects and artwork without further adjustment.

Weekly Activity Statistics

The Stats screen shows a Monday-through-Sunday bar chart of how frequently you've used the lab each day, alongside a running count of your most-used fruits and favorite combinations. Over weeks, the data reveals patterns in your own color preferences.

Color Theory Learn Mode

Interactive lessons inside the app explain hue relationships, color temperature, contrast, and palette harmony using the fruit metaphor as the learning scaffold. Quiz modules follow each lesson to test your understanding before you advance to the next concept.

Six-Badge Achievement System

Sweetopia Lab tracks six milestone badges: First Mix, Recipe Master, Color Artist, Dedicated, Experimenter, and Collector. Locked badges appear in muted gray; earned ones display in full color, creating a visible record of how deeply you've explored the laboratory.

In Action

Core Mechanics

Laboratory Workflow

  • Open the Fruit Catalog from the Home dashboard's Quick Actions row and browse by Citrus, Berry, Tropical, or Stone category filters
  • Select one or more fruits — each circle button shows the fruit's illustration and a text label for unambiguous identification
  • The Lab workspace displays the blended color in real time as each fruit is added, with the result updating every time the selection changes
  • Save the active experiment as a recipe with a custom name and one or more tags to find it again later in the Gallery

Palette and Progress Systems

  • After confirming a fruit mix, trigger palette generation to receive a set of harmonious colors derived from the blend — complementary variants included
  • The Gallery section holds all saved experiments, named recipes, and generated palettes in one browsable archive
  • The Stats tab surfaces your most-used fruits and weekly activity in a horizontal bar chart — Friday activity registers as the longest bar in the default dataset
  • Achievement badges unlock progressively: First Mix activates immediately, while Recipe Master, Experimenter, and Collector require deeper engagement with their respective systems
